Celebrate the Class of 2020 with Blockeley Music Festival

As we still remain in lockdown, many in the Graduating Class of 2020 are unfortunately having to miss out on their commencement ceremonies. Wanting to provide a unique celebration, Elliot Choi and Luis Juarez created a 1:1 replica in Minecraft of the UC Berkeley Campus. They have partnered with DJ/Producer duo BEAUZ to create a graduation ceremony with a captivating music lineup and elevate the event to the EDM community and beyond. In addition, they brought on Tony Jia, co-founder of Subtle Asian Party and China Partner of the viral YouTube Channel “Asian Boss”, to help amplify this event from coast to coast.

Catch Vini Vici, Sam Feldt, Matoma, BEAUZ, and many more during this unique digital event. It will be streamed on May 16th starting at 4 pm PST and May 17th at 10 am PST on OS Studio’s Twitch Channel and ABC LIVE.

Modern era of instability and the resulting rapid technological innovations that impacts almost every industry. With covid-19’s induced lockdown preventing live shows from happening, the music industry remains devastated since their major income source has been taken away. As a result, the concept of creating or owning virtual real estate where physical constraints are no longer limiters become more enticing than ever. I believe what we are creating here is disrupting the industry and showing possibilities of creating a whole economy around virtual reality markets.

– Johan of BEAUZ

Johan, one of the members of BEAUZ, who is an alumnus of UC Berkeley has been working alongside many others on this project to expand and amplify the festival through strategic partnerships. To increase the events reach, BEAUZ enlisted the help of Tony Jia, whose company Subtle Asian Party has hosted events Echostage, Soundcheck, and other music venues in the DC area.

“Over here in the DC capital region the nightlife family have been trying to stay active in creative ways. Things are very different now than just a few months ago when we had Beauz perform for us in D.C’s Ultrabar. When Johan reached out to me about this project with Elliott I was very excited, as was the Subtle Asian Party family. Our team of promoters are made up of students/alumni/professionals from each of the region’s universities. We are excited to join hands with BEAUZ and Blockley to bring this event to the stuck-at-home party people on the east coast.”

-Tony Jia

This unique event will surely be unlike any other virtual music event we have seen. Not only does it celebrate the Class of 2020 it combines technology and music to create an interactive and engaging experience. The coordination of various groups all across the nation has demonstrated that this event is unifying music lovers and graduates from coast to coast.
