Bonnaroo Updates: Reschedule Dates and More

For those of you who have not heard… Bonnaroo 2020 has been rescheduled for September 24th-27th, 2020. Due to COVID-19, everything has been affected, including festivals. For the sake of all Bonnaroovians, artists, staff and the EDM community, they have chosen to move the festival to a later date. As upsetting as this is, I believe this is the best thing for us as a community and people in general. The new date will be unfortunate for some, due to it being the same weekend as Lost Lands and the same month that many festivals have been rescheduled for due to this health epidemic. Which can be an issue for some.

What does this mean?

Bonnaroo has posted that all current tickets (camping, tent rentals, R.V.s, etc.) WILL BE honored. And has promised to keep everyone updated via email, their website and social media, last updated on March 18, 2020. No further information has been released.

Due to Bonnaroo’s date being moved, this will also mean changes will be made to the festival itself. The line up will not be the same, due to the artists no longer being available for the new date of the festival. Some will surely still be able to make it, but others will not. The line up has not been mentioned so far, but I’m sure will be updated closer to date. This also means vendors will likely change as well.

Is there anything positive?

With all of the news and fests being canceled/rescheduled, it is a very sad and unfortunate time for the EDM community, and not just us but the world as a whole. I encourage you to take this time to work on yourself. That hobby you always wanted to try, but never had the time? Do it! That flow toy that’s been sitting in your room, untouched. Pick that thing up and learn a new trick or combo! Quit doubting yourself and star doing it! This is your time! Find something you love and do it. Start making your own music, start getting crafty and creative or get that festival bod you have always wanted. We are all such unique, beautiful creatures. Use this time to express yourself and love yourself.

During this time, we also need to keep in mind mental health awareness. Practice social distancing, but don’t forget about your friends and others in our community. Times are taught right now, so check in on your friends and try to keep yourself busy. My rave family has been doing Instagram live. We all join and our friends who DJ in the group make music while those of us who are flow artists in the group flow to their music while everyone else watches and enjoys the company. I encourage you all to do the same.

This is a time to come together. We come together as one. I encourage everyone to stay positive in this trying time. Encourage one another, love one another, support small businesses and artists. We will get through this. We will persevere. We will overcome. Stay Healthy and PLUR on my friends! And don’t forget to wash your hands!
